Milestone sessions are for what I like to call "smilers, sitters, and standers." Not all babies meet milestones at the same time, so I've discovered that it's best to follow the babies cue on when we schedule their session. Smilers typically end up being around 4 months old. At this age they can lay on their belly with their head up, coo, and give us those heartwarming grins! Sitters are usually around 6 to 7 months of age. At this age they can generally sit up unassisted or mostly unassisted. This will allow us to put them in various chair and buckets, and of course some in the crawling position too! Standers typically end up being around 9 to 10 months old. At this age they are usually standing with/or without holding on to something, but not necessarily walking. They can hold on to cute props, and show off those chubby little legs! These are all just generalizations, and not all babies will fall within these terms at these times, or at all, and that is totally ok! This is just a guide to help give us an idea of when to get babies in to the studio for photos.
